Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a big bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.
Bild in Germany are reporting that United are set to try and sign the 24-year-old, who is valued at £40m.
With Dortmund looking set to miss out on Champions League qualification via the league, they could be forced to offload players this summer, Bild claim.
And Nmecha is one of those who could reportedly depart the club if that happens.
The Germany international has been at Borussia Dortmund since 2023 and has played 27 times in all competitions for the club this season, scoring three goals.
He was also part of the squad which reached the Champions League final last season.
Gregor Kobel, Jamie Gittens and Karim Adeyemi are all also among those being linked with exits from Dortmund.
Nmecha was formerly at Manchester City as part of the club’s academy, before he left for Germany, joining Wolfsburg in 2021 and then moving on to Dortmund.
He is currently sidelined with an injury but is set to return soon, potentially in time for Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final with Barcelona.
United have also reportedly established a shortlist of striker options for this summer – consisting of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekiteke, according to Sky in Germany.
There are also reports linking the Red Devils with a move for Ipswich Town and former Manchester City striker Liam Delap.
And United’s links to Osimhen have generated reports of a possible swap deal involving Rasmus Hojlund.
Gazetta Dello Sport say Hojlund is of interest to Napoli and their boss Antonio Conte.
Hojlund has struggled for goals this season and his strike against Leicester was just his third in the Premier League this season.
Osimhen is said to be available for £63m while Hojlund is reportedly valued at £51m by United.
