Manchester City are in the running to sign 15-year-old forward Johan Martinez in the summer transfer window, as per a new report.

The Blues will undergo a revamp when Hugo Viana takes over as sporting director after a disappointing season that could see City miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2025-26 term.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Ederson and John Stones have all been linked with summer exits as Pep Guardiola looks to add young blood to his ranks.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso have been reported to be of interest to officials at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola has said recently that City would have fared much better this season were it not for the long list of injury absentees the club have had to cope with since August.

Oscar Bobb suffered a leg break in training in the days after Manchester City beat rivals Manchester United in the FA Community Shield, whilst Rodri ruptured his ACL in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in September.

John Stones, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake have all faced their own fitness issues at various points of the season, which forced City to enter the January transfer market and sign the pair of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis.

According to a new report by Team Talk, Manchester City are in the running to sign Ecuadorian talent Johan Martinez in the summer.

The highly-rated Independiente del Valle winger has attracted interest from various clubs across Europe, including Liverpool and Brighton and Hove Albion – both of whom are tracking the teenager’s progress.

City have an extensive scouting network in South America and could look to add the wide forward to their star-studded academy, which has produced a number of elite first-team players currently playing in the Premier League.
