Manchester City have received some good news ahead of the upcoming international break. A new report has revealed that Kevin De Bruyne will not take part in Belgium’s fixtures over the international break. That is good news for the world champions as it means De Bruyne can continue his recovery from a groin injury.

Joe Bray has relayed quotes from Belgium manager Domenico Tedesco for Manchester Evening News that Kevin De Bruyne will miss Belgium’s upcoming fixtures. Bray adds that Kevin De Bruyne has told the Belgium manager that he isn’t available for selection for their upcoming fixtures. Furthermore, Bray reports that the Manchester City legend will also miss Belgium’s November fixtures at his request.

The news of Kevin De Bruyne being unavailable for Belgium is good news for Manchester City. De Bruyne is currently sidelined with a groin injury he suffered during City’s nil-all draw with Inter Milan. He is expected to return to action after the upcoming international break.

The good news for Manchester City is that Kevin De Bruyne will continue his recovery from injury at the club. He won’t have to travel for international duty with Belgium. The world champions aren’t the only club who have seen players depart for international duty while injured and return to the club with a more significant injury. Thankfully the champions won’t have to face that reality over the next couple of weeks.

An update on Kevin De Bruyne’s condition may come from Pep Guardiola later today. The City manager will front the media during his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Fulham. It is expected that Guardiola will be asked about the condition of De Bruyne later today.
