Tijjani Reijnders re-upped with Milan earlier this season, but that’s not deterring Manchester City from attempting to sign him, and they are also eyeing Juventus product Nicolò Savona to add to their defense.
According to Matteo Moretto (via SOSFanta), the Dutchman is high on the Citizens’ short list for the midfield. The chase is in its early stages. There have been no contacts with the player’s entourage or the Rossoneri so far. However, they are concocting a very important proposal on personal terms.
Reijnders, who’s comfortable in Milan, will prioritize his own team, so it’s uncertain whether he’ll welcome the incoming courtship by Manchester City, who’ll have better chances of onboarding Savona from Juventus.
Per TuttoSport, the talent isn’t for sale, but the Bianconeri will listen to any bid. They cashed in on several homegrown players last year to finance their acquisitions. An offer north of €20M could entice them to at least sit at the table.
Milan might indeed sacrifice somebody, absent a miraculous comeback in Serie A. Still, the former should be at the bottom of such a list given his stellar performances and contractual situation. Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan, and Rafael Leao are way more likely candidates, especially the first two, as they have yet to renew their deals that expire in 2026.
The Old Lady seems to have very lofty transfer market plans, and something will have to give in the other direction. He’s shown well and has a high ceiling, but he’s also not a regular when they are whole. They might act like they did last summer with multiple youngsters in the same position.
