Real Madrid hold a serious interest in signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies on a free transfer when his contract with the club expires.

As has already been reported, chances of the Canadian left-back continuing in Bavaria are appearing slim with each passing day and an exit as a free agent is gaining weight.

Real Madrid are at the forefront of the interest that the 23-year-old is gathering but are facing competition from arch-rivals Barcelona while Manchester United are also in the picture.

Manchester United’s interest getting more concrete

In fact, German journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Manchester United have further solidified their interest in signing Alphonso Davies in the summer.

Indeed, the Red Devils have been collecting extensive information about the Canadian international in recent days as they see him as the ideal signing to address their woes in the left-back position.

The report further adds that Manchester United have already made an informal enquiry with the Bayern Munich star’s camp about a possible transfer in the summer.

This development could come as a concerning one for Real Madrid, who have been tracking Davies for a long time now and see him as an upgrade on their current options at left-back.

It has been previously suggested that Davies dreams of playing for the reigning champions of La Liga and Europe.

But the lure of the Premier League and a more lucrative contract offer from Manchester United could prove too tempting to turn down.

With Barcelona also in the picture and Davies’ connection with their manager Hansi Flick, Real Madrid would be best-served by acting quickly and securing a pre-contract agreement with the left-back as soon as he enters the final six months of his deal in January.
