According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Olympique de Marseille are currently continuing negotiations with Juventus over central midfielder Nicolò Fagioli (23), offering a loan with a non-obligatory purchase option. Yesterday, Foot Mercato reported that the 23-year-old wants to leave Juventus and join Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille side this winter. The Italian midfielder has struggled with game time under Thiago Motta’s outfit this season, as OM look for midfield reinforcements due to the likely departure of Canadian international Ismaël Koné (22). De Zerbi confirmed in a press conference that the club will be looking to part ways with the Canadian international this winter following several underwhelming performances in the Marseille shirt. The former Watford player was not part of training at the end of last week and was not included in the matchday squad that lost away to OGC Nice.With the likely collapse of Marseille’s move for AS Roma midfielder Nicola Zalewski (22), the onus is now on Les Olympiens to seal a deal for Fagioli before the end of the window on the 3rd February.
