Mike Maignan’s future is uncertain and this has caused AC Milan to look around for possible replacements, a journalist has claimed.
Reports have suggested that Milan have been working on a renewal with Maignan for a while, and though an agreement seemed close a while back, everything then went quiet as the management began to reflect.
There is uncertainty regarding his future as a result, especially given that his contract expires in just over 12 months, and the Rossoneri might have to look at potential targets just in case. Roma’s Mile Svilar has been mentioned in recent days, to give one example.
Mazzara published his weekly column for MilanNews and in it he spoke about a number of topics, including the differences between Milan’s past and current ownership. He also spoke about the future of Maignan, and revealed a name that the club are looking at.
“Pulisic, Maignan and Theo Hernandez, or rather the three ‘to be renewed’ who have been “close” for months but who, in reality, do not have a pen in hand or meetings scheduled in the coming weeks to sign.
“Maignan, captain of Milan, has a verbal agreement until June 30, 2028, but in via Aldo Rossi they are also monitoring options that go free in the summer (De Gea among the names). As of May 12, this is what it looks like.”
