Milan presented the Supercoppa Italiana trophy to their fans at San Siro ahead of tonight’s match against Cagliari, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez chosen to do the honours.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 GMT.

The Rossoneri are fresh off a remarkable comeback victory from 2-0 down to beat rivals Inter 3-2 in the Supercoppa Italiana Final in Riyadh.

As many of the supporters were unable to make the journey to Saudi Arabia for that match, this was their first opportunity to see the trophy.

Captain Calabria walked out holding the trophy and took it to the centre-circle, accompanied only by Theo Hernandez.

It was a curious choice of players, especially as Calabria is not wearing the captain’s armband this evening despite being in the starting XI, but the role goes to Mike Maignan.

Theo Hernandez is also an interesting player to make the gesture, perhaps an attempt to calm the tense rapport he had with the ultras in recent weeks.

This evening is also the Serie A debut for new coach Sergio Conceicao, who took over from Paulo Fonseca on December 30.

His only two games so far on the bench have been the 2-1 Supercoppa Italiana semi-final victory over Juventus and 3-2 against Inter.
