According to Africa Foot, the 33-year-old’s time at the City Ground could come to an end this month.

The centre-back’s contract is set to expire this summer, albeit there is a clause the club can trigger to extend it by a further 12 months.

Boly’s lack of game time and contract situation has led to speculation over his future with the Premier League side this winter.

It has been reported that both Millwall and Hull are keeping tabs on the situation involving Boly.

The Ivorian has made just four appearances in the top flight this season, having fallen down the pecking order in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.

It is believed that Boly is open to a potential move amid his lack of minutes for the Reds.

It has been claimed that Boly has a valuation of €2.5 (£2.1) million, although it remains to be seen whether any club would be willing to meet that asking price.

Millwall and Hull are 13th and 22nd in the Championship table, respectively, having both recently appointed new managers in Alex Neil and Ruben Selles.

Willy Boly’s Premier League experience

Boly initially made the move to English football in 2017, arriving at Wolves ahead of their Championship-winning campaign under Espirito Santo.

He spent six seasons at Molineux, helping the club establish themselves back in the Premier League, even earning back-to-back seventh place finishes in 2019 and 2020.

Boly moved to Forest in 2022 following their promotion to the Premier League, but has struggled for consistent game time in his three years at the club.

His last appearance in Santo’s team came against Everton in a 2-0 win at the end of December.

Boly deal would bring a lot of experience to Millwall or Hull

Boly has struggled for game time in the Premier League in the last few years, and it’s clear that he is now past his best.

However, he could still be of use to a side in the Championship if he can be convinced to take the drop down.

No club should splash the cash to bring him in as the value wouldn’t be there long-term, but he could be a solid short-term addition to a side like Millwall or Hull.
