West Ham United ended a season marked by ups and downs. They have witnessed inconsistent attacking output and injuries that severely affected the team’s overall performance. Despite moments of brilliance, the team failed to establish a clear identity on the pitch, and that led to frustration among fans.

The manager tried different approaches, with constant rotations and tactical adjustments that did not always yield positive results. The lack of consistency among the forwards forced the team to experiment with various formations. This affected key players who were unable to perform at their best.

Mohammed Kudus was one of the most frequently used players, but even he was affected by this irregular change in the system. As the transfer window approaches, sporting decisions are beginning to define the club’s immediate future, and the departure of certain players seems inevitable.

Newcastle United Want To Sign Mohammed Kudus From West Ham United

According to the Football Insider, Newcastle United have set their sights on Mohammed Kudus, who is a 24-year-old Ghanaian winger who plays for West Ham. The Magpies’ management considers the player a priority to strengthen their right wing, especially after qualifying for the Champions League for the 2025-26 season.

Although the footballer’s campaign at the London Stadium was not outstanding, his ability to play in various positions in the attacking line and individual quality have caught the interest of the northern English club. West Ham, for their part, would be willing to listen to offers with the aim of raising funds and complying with the financial regulations imposed by the Premier League. Kudus has a contract until 2028, but everything indicates that his time with the Hammers could come to an end this summer.

The possible sale of Kudus has sparked mixed opinions. On the one hand, letting go of a young and talented player seems like a questionable decision. However, if West Ham needs to balance their finances and avoid penalties, a well-valued sale could be a blessing in disguise. Kudus arrived from Ajax for a fee of around £38 million including bonuses, and so the London club should aim to recoup that investment or even exceed it.

How Much Should The Hammers Demand?

A starting price of between £45 and £50 million would be reasonable considering his age, potential and the interest of several teams. The mention of Al Nassr in the bidding opens the door to a possible bidding war, and it could benefit West Ham financially.

If the departure goes ahead, Graham Potter will have to re-organise his line-up without Kudus. The coach, who is still seeking stability in his squad, would lose a player who, beyond the statistics, brought mobility, quality and tactical flexibility. Rather than seeing this as a net loss, it could be transformed into an opportunity to rebuild from a more homogeneous base, and they could invest the money in several profiles that suit his playing style and system.
