Arda Guler’s second season at Real Madrid has not gone as many had hoped. Just like last season, the Turkish midfielder has struggled to make a strong impact, often finding himself struggling for minutes.

While he possesses immense talent, his role within the squad has diminished as the season has progressed. Instead of gradually becoming a key figure, he has found himself on the fringes of the team.

Carlo Ancelotti has given him some opportunities, such as in the Copa del Rey clash against Leganes, but he has not managed to stand out.

On several occasions, he has failed to make a noticeable impact on the pitch, which has been a source of disappointment within the club. There was an expectation that he would take a step forward, given his ability, but he has yet to fully assert himself.

Guler has all the technical qualities needed to succeed at Real Madrid, but he has not yet displayed the leadership required to thrive at a club of this magnitude.

Despite the lack of progress, Real Madrid Confidencial states that the club remains fully committed to him and believes he will establish himself sooner rather than later.

There is no doubt about his potential, and there are no regrets over the investment made to secure his signing. His performances have proved he can be clinical in front of goal, but he now needs more consistency.

Mutual understanding

Both the player and his camp remain calm about the situation. Despite ongoing speculation about a possible departure, Florentino Perez has never considered selling him.

The club views him as a generational talent who simply needs time to develop and showcase his best version.

Real Madrid supporters must exercise patience and avoid making premature judgments that could add unnecessary pressure on the youngster.

Fans have shown faith in him so far, but expectations were certainly higher at this stage of the season. While the start has been underwhelming, the belief within the club is that Guler’s moment will come.
