Simone Inzaghi isn’t thinking about rotating the Inter Milan squad in upcoming matches against Bayern Munich and Bologna.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that at least eight players will stay the same between the starting elevens for the two matches.

Inter Milan are at the stage of the season where coach Simone Inzaghi is having to carefully consider the fitness of his players.

Since the start of April, that has meant heavy rotation of the squad.

Between Inter’s last two matches, Inzaghi made six changes to the starting eleven.

The Nerazzurri faced Cagliari in Serie A on Saturday. That followed a huge Champions League quarterfinal first leg win over Bayern Munich last week.

But Inter’s next couple matches will allow no such rotation.

Inter’s next match is an absolutely colossal one. They take on Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League tie.

Then, it won’t get much easier over the weekend.

Next Sunday, Inter travel to Emilia-Romagna to face Bologna in Serie A.

The Rossoblu may have just suffered a tough loss to Atalanta. But they are one of the form teams in all of Serie A since the start of 2025.

Bologna got a well-deserved 2-2 draw at the San Siro in the reverse fixture in January.

And Inter know full well how tough matches against the Rossoblu can be in the Serie A title race. Overall, their record against Bologna in the last few seasons has been fairly mediocre.

Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Simone Inzaghi will not compromise the team that faces Bayern on Wednesday.

One change could be in defense. Francesco Acerbi will start against Bayern Munich, but it could be Stefan de Vrij who returns to the lineup against Bologna.

Then, on the left flank, Federico Dimarco will certainly start against Bayern – but it could be Carlos Augusto taking his place on the left flank against Bologna.

And one of Alessandro Bastoni and Benjamin Pavard could drop out of the lineup between the matches. Yann Bisseck would be ready to replace them.

But otherwise, it will be the same core of players. Inzaghi wants basically his strongest team on the pitch in both matches.
