After spending the first half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Celtic, FC Barcelona starlet Alex Valle has completed a mid-season switch to Como 1907, the Serie A club have confirmed.
“Como 1907 is pleased to announce the agreement with FC Barcelona for the loan of Alex Valle until the end of the current season,” the statement from the Italian team read.
“The 20-year-old Spanish left-back is currently on loan at Celtic who are currently sitting top of Scottish Premiership.”
Valle, 20, did the pre-season at Barça under Hansi Flick before opting to leave the club on loan for regular minutes.
The left-back enjoyed a fairly solid first half of the season with Celtic, playing 19 matches in which he produced five assists.
However, with the Scottish giants set to re-sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal, Valle has opted to move on from Glasgow and has signed for Como for the rest of the season.
There appears to be no buy option included in the agreement, but Valle, who signed a contract with Barcelona until 2026 before leaving last summer, is understood to have a €6 million release clause, which can be activated at the end of the season.
