Official: Barcelona release statement on Dani Olmo & Pau Víctor | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have this evening published a statement, surrounding the respective situations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

This, of course, comes amid the Blaugrana’s ongoing efforts to register both for the remainder of the campaign.

As things stand, Olmo and Víctor will be unable to line out for Hansi Flick’s troops beyond the turn of the year.

As much comes owing to the club’s financial woes, which are currently blocking Barcelona from registering either summer arrival on their wage bill for 2025.

After Joan Laporta and co. saw a series of appeals to the courts rejected over the course of recent days, speculation began to spread in the media this evening that the Catalans had sent a direct request to La Liga, regarding a potential extension to tonight’s registration deadline.

Just hours later, however, Barca have moved to reject any such claims.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new license for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Víctor to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

‘The Club would like to deny having requested or receiving any moratorium to any governing body for these inscriptions.’

La Liga, meanwhile, have since issued a response, as follows:

‘FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with LaLiga’s economic control regulations, would allow it to register any player after 2 January.’
