Official: Former Barcelona star beats current Blaugrana attacker to UCL Player of the Season award | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has missed out on the Champions League Player of the Season prize to a former member of the attacking ranks at the Camp Nou.

As much was made official by UEFA on Sunday evening.

The Champions League season of course came to a close on Saturday night, in Munich.

When all was said and done, it was Paris Saint-Germain who emerged triumphant, courtesy of a 5-0 drubbing of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan.

And as much has since been aptly reflected in UEFA’s official individual prizes for the tournament.

This comes amid confirmation that, despite finishing as both the Champions League’s top scorer and assist-maker, Barcelona standout Raphinha has not been crowned Player of the Tournament.

The award, instead, has gone the way of PSG frontman Ousmane Dembélé, who took his tally for the European campaign to eight goals and six assists against Inter Milan.
