La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday made official news which will no doubt go down a treat across the club’s fanbase.
This comes amid confirmation that manager Hansi Flick has put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club.
German tactician Flick is of course in the midst of what has been nothing short of a spectacular debut campaign on the Barcelona bench to date.
Owing to a 2-0 victory over Espanyol last week, the Blaugrana rounded out a domestic treble, now boasting champion status in all of La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.
In turn, it came as little surprise when word was recently forthcoming that the Camp Nou brass had kicked into gear efforts to extend their manager’s terms with the club beyond their prior expiration in the summer of 2026.
And as alluded to above, this week, such endeavours have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms on Wednesday evening:
‘FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract which will tie him to the Club until 30 June 2027.
‘The German coach has signed a new contract on Wednesday at the Club offices in the presence of FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafa Yuste and the Club’s sporting director, Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco”, amongst others.’
