La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday secured defensive reinforcements for the club’s academy ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Spanish champions? Lamini Fati.
The name of stopper Fati had of course emerged as a prominent one in the media chatter in Madrid over the course of recent weeks.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the youngster had made his way firmly onto the wishlist of those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Fati, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who had until now been plying his trade on the books of fellow La Liga outfit Leganés.
Having caught the eye with his performances at reserve level, Fati is understood to have made his way onto the transfer wishlists of a number of clubs across Spain.
But, in the end, the lure of Real Madrid proved too much for the Spaniard to turn down…
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Official: 18 year old centre back Lamini Fati joins Real Madrid from Leganés. Agreement for €100k fee for the centre back joining the Juvenil team.’
