Aemu Oyama will wear the number 30 shirt for Manchester City.

The Japan midfielder joins the Club on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Waseda University, becoming our second signing of the January transfer window.

An exciting deep lying playmaker, the 20-year-old slots straight into Gareth Taylor’s squad ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

And she’ll become just the second owner of the number 30 shirt in Manchester City’s professional history.

The only previous wearer was Ruby Mace, who spent three seasons in Blue after joining from Arsenal ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Mace featured 29 times for the Club, enjoying a successful loan spell in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign at Leicester City before joining the Foxes in 2024 on a permanent deal.

But now Oyama will take on the number 30 shirt as she looks to continue her rapid development at the Joie Stadium.
