It is well known now that Pep Guardiola is in the final year of his current contract with Manchester City. Barely a week goes by where the future of the City manager isn’t a talking point. But Guardiola has recently revealed that he is yet to decide on his future. That is no cause for concern for Manchester City as the world champions will find out sooner rather than later what the intentions of Pep Guardiola are.

Speaking with Italian television show Che tempo che fa Guardiola revealed that he is yet to decide on his future. The Manchester City manager was asked about reports stating that he had accepted the England managerial job. When asked about his future he said: “It’s not true, I can promise you that had I decided on whether to stay or to leave [City], I would tell you. I don’t even know. But anything can happen in life.”

Guardiola’s comments show that he is yet to decide on his future. Manchester City will give Guardiola the time he needs to decide on his future. He has more than earned that right, given what he has contributed to the club since he became the club’s manager. Having said that Manchester City will not want to be left scrambling to find a replacement for arguably the greatest manager in the game today. But that appears an unlikely scenario given how well-run Manchester City is as a club.

To further emphasize this point, a new report suggests that the City board may already know Guardiola’s intentions. Dean Jones and Matt Smith have reported for GIVEMESPORT that the City board already know Guardiola’s intentions. That wouldn’t be a major surprise given the forward planning the Manchester City hierarchy have previously shown.
