Plymouth Argyle have enjoyed a few memorable moments since the appointment of Miron Muslic in January.

The 42-year-old Austrian was brought in to replace Wayne Rooney at Home Park, after the Manchester United and England legend had been sacked with the Pilgrims in a precarious position at the bottom of the Championship table.

Plymouth are still bottom of the league with just 10 games left to preserve their second tier status, but they have produced a few impressive performances since the appointment of Muslic that could provide the supporters with some hope for the future.

The Pilgrims completed a famous FA Cup shock when they defeated Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Third Round last month, before they took the lead at the Etihad Stadium against current champions Manchester City in the Fourth Round a few weeks later.

Plymouth beat Millwall 5-1 at Home Park in February, which is the highlight of Muslic's reign in the Championship so far, but he will need to turn their recent form around and produce a few more results like that if they are going to have any chance of avoiding relegation to League One.

We asked our Plymouth fan pundit, Chris, whether he could see Muslic still being in the dugout at Home Park in three years' time.

"Miron Muslic has shown what a fantastic manager he is," Chris said.

"He is able to motivate his players to work for him in the strategies that he requires in such a positive manner.

"This has really put him in the spotlight in the media recently, not only for his previous family history, but also in relation to his coaching ability.

"With that in mind, he has also shown his very big passion towards Argyle, with regular messages on Instagram in regard to his love for the club, and also the support for the Green Army.

"However, there is always speculation that because of that positivity and his ability, alongside the fantastic coaching prowess he has, another club could look to snap him up.

"I would hope that Muslic is going to stay for a significant amount of time, hopefully for the next couple of seasons, but if he continues with his increasingly good form, I believe this may be a small possibility as there will be many larger clubs who will be keen on making him their head coach or manager.

"I suspect he will be up towards a Premier League club in no time at all."

Plymouth will hope they can keep hold of Muslic

While it seems unlikely that Muslic will be in charge of a Premier League club any time soon, there is every chance that his work at Argyle has caught the eye of other clubs.

He led Belgian side Cercle Brugge to Europe against the odds during his previous role, and when you consider that he also completed a huge upset with Argyle, it appears as though he is capable of getting the best out of his group of players when things go to plan.

Muslic would have known that relegation to League One was a real possibility when he arrived at Plymouth, so he could be ready to try and guide the Pilgrims back to the Championship, but it will be interesting to see what happens if another club does make an approach for his services.
