After a disappointing home draw midweek to Lille in the UEFA Champions League, Niko Kovač and company will be looking for a return to winning ways in the Westfalenstadion. While the 6-0 decimation of Union Berlin two weeks ago was a spectacle to behold, it remains Niko Kovač’s only home win since taking the helm of Borussia Dortmund.
The underwhelming 1-1 draw with Lille aside, BVB has looked quite promising in their last two domestic games, first that 6-0 win over Union Berlin and then last Saturday’s 2-0 away win at St. Pauli. This was the first time this season that Dortmund managed back-to-back wins, and another three points would be massive in the race for Europe.
