Below, we present our predicted Southampton lineup for the Premier League home game against Newcastle United. As expected, the biggest question remains, will Ramsdale start on Saturday?
Finally, Southampton are back in action at the St. Mary's. Today, the Saints will host Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Similar to last week, Ivan Juric faces another big selection dilemma. That's because Aaron Ramsdale isn't guaranteed to guard the Southampton goal against Newcastle's clinical attack.
On that note, let's deep dive into our predicted Southampton lineup against Newcastle United.
GK - Aaron Ramsdale.
Hoping that Ramsdale stays fit enough to start. Otherwise, Joe Lumley should get the nod against Newcastle United.
CB - Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Nottingham Forest was a rare subpar outing for the Englishman. Still, Harwood-Bellis must lead the Southampton defence today.
CB - Jan Bednarek.
Solid in defence and can score last-minute headers. Remains key to man marking Isak.
CB - Nathan Wood.
Bree made a ton of misplaced passes last week. Thus, Juric should bring Wood into the fold.
LWB - Kyle Walker-Peters.
Holds the key to Southampton's attack on the left.
RWB - Yukinari Sugawara.
Struggled to defend against Nottingham Forest. Still, Charlie Taylor's possible loan could give Sugawara another start.
CM - Joe Aribo.
No doubts here, Aribo will retain his midfield position. Southampton will need a good replacement if he leaves after this season.
CM - Lesley Ugochukwu.
Ivan Juric must stop the Flynn Downes experiment. Ugochukwu compliments Aribo's defensive work extremely well in the middle of the park.
CAM - Mateus Fernandes.
Easily, Southampton's most reliable player after Dibling. Let's see if he gets on the scoresheet against the Toons.
ST - Kamaldeen Sulemana.
