Bayern Munich will be hoping to maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table as they host Holstein Kiel at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Bayern extended their lead at the top from four points to six points last week after beating Freiburg 2-1 and Bayer Leverkusen only managing a 2-2 draw against RB Leipzig.
In the Champions League on Wednesday, Vincent Kompany’s side just about managed to qualify for a spot in the round of 16 play offs with a 3-1 win against Slovan Bratislava.
Results have been mixed in the Champions League however Bayern have enjoyed great success in the Bundesliga and have won six of their last seven games.
The last time these two sides met, Bayern comfortably won the game 6-1 by scoring three times in the opening 13 minutes.
Their opponents are currently in an automatic relegation spot in 17th place and are two points behind Heidenheim who currently occupy the relegation play off spot.
Despite their position, Marcel Rapp’s side have not been having trouble in front of goal as they have scored 14 times in their last five matches.
They face the biggest test possible this Saturday though as they travel to the best home team in the league having been winless in ten of their 11 away matches this season.

Bayern will continue to be without left-back Alphonso Davies due to his hamstring injury.
Goalkeeper Daniel Peretz and defender Hiroki Ito also remain out.
Leon Goretzka has also been ruled out until late February with a hamstring injury.
It is likely that Joshua Kimmich will start in midfield with Aleksandar Pavlovic as a result of this.
Kiel will be missing midfielder Nicolai Remberg through suspension.
Marvin Schulz will be a doubt for the game as he is struggling with fitness, meaning Lewis Holtby, Magnus Knudsen and Armin Gigovic could start as a midfield three on Saturday.
Centre-backs Patrick Erras, Carl Johansson and Colin Kleine-Bekel are all also struggling with injuries, meaning a makeshift defence may need to be put in place which will be far from ideal against Bayern’s attacking prowess.
Forward Alexander Bernhardsson is set to return from his knee injury in March.
