Proud of my Geordie roots and a fervent Toon fan, that will never change

As one of the Newcastle United “old brigade” (I saw my first game in 1957), fair to say that I have been through so many highs and lows.
I was at the Fairs Cup Final.
However, I then had way too many trips to Wembley (and Cardiff), with nothing but ‘oh well maybe next time’.
My health was deteriorating (cancer).
The cost of commuting the 280 mile round trip to St James’ Park became prohibitive.
So I gave up my Newcastle United season ticket.
However, once the love is there, you don’t lose it.
I have now relied on the Newcastle United membership ballot.
So far I have got two games this season, for which I’m eternally grateful.
Then on Sunday 16 March, I seriously doubt anyone partied more than me, or the following fortnight…
