Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid worked out exactly per the dream scenario Florentino Perez had in mind.

Exactly as planned by the club president, Mbappe held off contract renewal talks with PSG and pushed for a departure, eventually leaving and arriving in Madrid on a free transfer.

For PSG, however, the transaction was a massive setback as they received no returns from the departure of their single biggest star.

In fact, the legal battle that ensued and the tussle with Mbappe over the unpaid wages only furthered the gap between the two parties.

PSG eyeing revenge

As relayed in a recent report by MARCA, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Co. have not forgotten the injustice that was served to them and are looking to exact revenge against Real Madrid.

They see the best way to take revenge to be signing players from Real Madrid in exchange, and their primary target is La Fabrica.

It is no secret that Los Blancos have several young prodigal talents and it is precisely them who PSG hope to sign to settle the score. Needless to say, this comes as a massive blow for Real Madrid.

The current season has been positive for the academy and the Castilla team with several players being called up for match-day squads and even handed their debuts. The club’s attention now will shift to the renewals of young stars before they can be swooped away.

While Real Madrid and PSG fight this battle off the field, they may well face an on-field battle against each other soon in the UEFA Champions League.

Should they make it out of their respective quarterfinals, the potential semifinal will be between the two European giants.
