Raphinha claims Barcelona teammate deserves Man of the Match award ‘in every match’ after display vs Real Madrid | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has moved to lavish praise on a fellow member of Hansi Flick’s squad.

The player in question? Pedri.

Barcelona, of course, were back in action on Sunday evening, welcoming arch rivals Real Madrid to Catalunya’s capital for a top-of-the-table La Liga showdown.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a seven-goal thriller, to all but secure their status as Spanish champions.

The aforementioned Raphinha was handed the Man of the Match prize following the full-time whistle, after notching a decisive brace at Montjuïc.

Speaking to the media post-match, however, the Brazilian was keen to play his contributions down:

“I didn’t play well today. I don’t deserve the Man of the Match award. I would have given it to someone else.”

Pressed on which of his teammates may have been more deserving of the accolade, Raphinha then went on to add:

“Pedri deserves the Man of the Match award in every match.”
