Raphinha talks contract renewal, Lewandowski, Yamal, El Clasico, Barcelona captaincy | OneFootball

Barcelona winger Raphinha is full of confidence and excitement ahead of today’s El Clasico. In a chat with Movistar Plus (h/t Mundo Deportivo), the Brazilian star made it clear how much the club means to him.

“Thinking about reaching the top in football without Barcelona doesn’t make sense,” he said. “Honestly, I’m enjoying every moment here. I never imagined I’d be living this dream.”

The 28-year-old has become a key figure in Hansi Flick’s team and is already looking to extend his time at the club.

With his current contract running until June 2027, there have already been talks about a renewal. When asked what comes next in his journey at Barcelona, Raphinha answered with a smile, “My renewal.”

Raphinha has been in great form this season and continues to work hard. “I’m pushing myself to give my best every time. I think I’m doing well and I want to keep this level going,” he explained.

Speaking about El Clasico, Raphinha highlighted the special energy that comes with it.

“This match feels like a final. It’s not just another game — everything stops, and the whole world watches. Even before stepping onto the pitch, the tension is real,” he said.

He also took a moment to praise teammate Robert Lewandowski. “When I arrived at Barça, I had many talks with Lewandowski. He’s an example. At his age, what he does is just amazing. Young players should learn from people like him.”

Raphinha also touched on his appointment as one of the team’s captains. “I was very excited when the coach said I would be one of the captains, because honestly, I didn’t expect it,” he shared.

“I’m using what I’ve learned over the years of my football career to try to give the best advice to Lamine Yamal.”

Finally, the Brazilian spoke about reaching the same level as Neymar in European competitions.

“I’m happy to match Neymar’s numbers with Barça in Europe. I want to keep going and achieve more. We talk often, and I really value the advice he gives me.”
