Many a Real Madrid supporter across the globe have on Monday admitted their surprise with the outcome of the voting process for the club’s Player of the Month.

This comes amid confirmation that Kylian Mbappé has secured the prize.

Frontman Mbappé for his part enjoyed a fruitful December in the colours of Real, racking up four goals and an assist in five appearances across all competitions.

And yet, the widespread expectation was that the Frenchman would be beaten to the POTM award by teammate Jude Bellingham.

Midfielder Bellingham nothing short of dazzled in December, to the point that the 21-year-old was named La Liga Player of the Month.

Looking back to his brilliant best as the spearhead in Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room setup, Bellingham notched five goals and two assists in six appearances.
