La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday been hit with a considerable sanction on the part of UEFA.
That’s according to Relevo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in the Spanish capital.
Real, it is understood, have been punished for the behaviour of the club’s fans during their recent Champions League playoff meeting with Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Blancos faithful have been found guilty of what is described as ‘discriminatory behaviour’ towards their side’s opponents.
UEFA, in turn, have hit the La Liga champions with a fine of €30,000.
On top of this, Real Madrid have been slapped with a suspended partial stadium closure of the Bernabéu.
In the case of similar incidents being noted in Los Merengues’ fixtures in Europe over the next two years, this sanction – which would see a certain section of the ground closed for fans – will come into effect.
