Cristiano Ronaldo, one of Real Madrid’s greatest-ever players, has sent a clear message to the club and its supporters about Kylian Mbappe, offering advice on how the French star should be treated if he were to join the Spanish giants.

In a conversation with Edu Aguirre on El Chiringuito TV, Ronaldo shared his thoughts on Mbappe’s potential adaptation at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo made it clear that he believes Real Madrid fans should protect and support Mbappe. “Take care of him. Take care of him. I’m telling the Real Madrid fans… Take care of the kid,” he said.

“Mbappe is very good and Real Madrid has to help him and protect him. I have no doubt that he will bring a lot of joy to Real Madrid fans,” he noted.

Ronaldo was reminded by Aguirre that Mbappe has long been a fan of his, even idolizing him during his younger years.

Ronaldo acknowledged this connection, saying that he holds a great deal of affection for Mbappe.

He explained that while he admires the young Frenchman for his talent, it’s not just about the history of him being a fan, but also his belief that Mbappe is a truly exceptional player who could provide immense joy to Real Madrid’s supporters.

“I love him a lot, and not just because of the story he had when he was young, where he loved Cristiano Ronaldo a lot and he was his idol. But I see him as a great player and he is going to bring a lot of joy to Real Madrid,” he added.

When the conversation turned to whether he still follows Real Madrid, Ronaldo admitted that he watches the team from time to time, largely because his son Mateo is a huge fan of Mbappe.

“I watch Real Madrid from time to time because my son Mateo likes Mbappe a lot.”

Ronaldo also offered his opinion on how Mbappe could fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s system at Real Madrid. He suggested that Mbappe’s best position might not be as a forward, noting that it could be challenging for him to play in that role.

“The striker position complicates Mbappe a little bit because he doesn’t know how to play as a striker in my opinion. It’s not that he doesn’t know, it’s not his position,” said Ronaldo.

He believed that while Mbappe is certainly capable, it may not be his natural position. Ronaldo went on to suggest that if he were still at Real Madrid, he would take the time to teach Mbappe how to play as a number nine.

“If I was at Real Madrid I would teach him to play as a 9. Because I was not a striker. I got used to playing as a striker. I played on the wing and people forget.”

Ronaldo concluded with some final advice for Mbappe, suggesting that the Frenchman should not focus on becoming a typical striker.

Instead, Ronaldo recommended that Mbappe play in a similar manner to how he, Ronaldo, used to operate as a forward.

“Kylian should not be a typical striker. If I were him I would play more or less the way Cristiano Ronaldo plays as a striker,” he concluded.
