According to a recent report from MARCA, the forward feels he ‘owes Real Madrid’ and has taken the initiative to engage in a mini pre-season training regimen.

This decision comes from his concern that he is not meeting the high expectations set for him as a player at such a prestigious club.

Mbappe, who was not selected for international duty this time around, missed the pre-season matches earlier in the season. Notably, he was also absent from the team’s initial training session after their tour of the United States.

Despite this setback, he started in the European Super Cup final just a week later. So far this season, although his performance statistics show impressive figures—seven goals and one assist in 11 matches—his overall impact on the field has left something to be desired.

Recognizing this, Mbappe has chosen to remain in Madrid during the international matches to focus on enhancing his physical condition with the help of Antonio Pintus, the club’s fitness coach.

Adding to the challenges he faced, he suffered a muscle injury in the match against Alaves. Thankfully, he managed to recover faster than expected and only missed one match, the derby.

Upon returning to action against Lille, where he played for the last half hour in Madrid’s first defeat of the season, he expressed his eagerness to start in the following game against Villarreal.

He communicated his readiness to Carlo Ancelotti but encountered difficulties once he stepped onto the pitch.

Despite his strong statistics, Mbappe’s performance has not consistently reflected his abilities, showing only glimpses of his true potential in this new chapter of his career.
