Many have perceived Real Madrid’s recent 1-0 defeat to Espanyol as a warning sign and believe the club must make a few moves before the transfer window comes to a close.

It is clear that the absence of key players due to injury has hurt the team badly. Many now are starting to doubt whether or not Real Madrid can sustain the quality throughout the season despite having such a poor depth.

No change in transfer policy

A recent report from MARCA, though, has clarified that Real Madrid have no desire to change their transfer policy and take a dip in the market.

The club have long operated on its own timeline, unaffected by fan pressure, media scrutiny, or enticing offers from abroad, including the financial might of Saudi Arabian clubs.

This season, the absence of key players has left the team visibly vulnerable, particularly at right-back.

Carlo Ancelotti would have appreciated reinforcements, but Real Madrid’s directors have decided against any immediate action.

The club attempted to expedite the arrival of Liverpool’s Alexander Arnold, but the English club rebuffed these advances and the player may only be available in the summer.

On the flip side, Real Madrid are said to have received mouth-watering proposals for Vinicius Junior. But the club have no desire to even consider the idea of the Brazilian’s departure.

As a matter of fact, the club have prioritised the contract renewal of Vinicius and consider him a vital piece of the project.

The message from Real Madrid is clear: strategic decisions, whether regarding transfers or contracts, will continue to be made according to the club’s long-standing plan, regardless of the immediate sporting consequences or the clamor from outside.

This approach, while successful economically and historically, now faces its sternest test amidst a season of significant challenges.
