Chelsea are weighing up an approach for Everton centre back Jarrad Branthwaite, but David Moyes is reluctant to sell according to reports.
The Blues are once again set for another busy summer and have already reached an agreement with Ipswich to sign Liam Delap.
Chelsea face a critical window and could look to add one more striker after Delap, whilst the club are looking to sign a centre back and a right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.
There’s set to be plenty of movement at centre back this summer with a number of sales expected in that department, whilst the Blues are also looking to bring another one in.
Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah are believed to be likely candidates to depart, but it’s currently unclear who will come in.

Chelsea had identified Dean Huijsen as their main target, but the 20-year-old opted to join Spanish giants Real Madrid instead.
The Blues are said to still be keen on Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, but Mail Sport have reported they are weighing up an approach for Branthwaite, with Moyes reluctant to sell the 22-year-old.
Manchester United tried to sign the England international last summer, but didn’t meet Everton’s £70m valuation, and the report adds Chelsea would be ahead of United this time around as they can offer Champions League football.
Chelsea have been previously linked with Branthwaite who made 32 appearances in all competitions last season, and he’s under contract until 2027, although Everton have the option of a further year.
It’s not just Branthwaite Chelsea are looking at defensively, they have also identified Ajax star Jorrel Hato as a target.
The 19-year-old is a left back can also play at centre back, and would be an ideal replacement for Veiga who’s expected to leave.

The teenager would provide much needed back-up to Marc Cucurella with Chelsea currently lacking an alternative to the Spaniard.
Hato is under contract until 2028 and despite his age has already made 111 appearances for Ajax, but Chelsea need to move fast as Liverpool are said to also be interested.
