Chelsea are reportedly willing to break their strict wage structure in order to bring one forward to the club in the summer market.
The Blues do not pay big wages these days and they keep a cap on their structure, making sure they don’t have any big earners. But apparently they are looking to break that now, and maybe that is because the performances have been so bad lately?
Chelsea were thrashed 3-0 by Brighton on Friday night in the league, just a week after losing 2-1 to them in the FA Cup fourth round.
Chelsea’s defeat against Brighton on Friday night has been named as the ‘worst performance’ under Enzo Maresca so far, and they are not wrong with that analysis at all.
There has been plenty of debate over who is to blame for how bad Chelsea are right now, with fingers being pointed at not just Maresca, but at the sporting directors who built this squad, as well as directly at the club owners. And the stats have backed up that all three have to share the blame right now.
Nico Williams playing for Athletic Bilbao.
An absolutely wild rumour this one, and very unlikely to hold any truth, in my opinion.
As relayed by Football Fancast, using Football 365 as their source of info, Athletic Bilbao starlet Nico Williams is believed to be among Chelsea’s top targets for next season, with the club apparently looking to sneak in ahead of the competition for his signature by making him a huge proposal.
It has been reported that Chelsea have offered Williams a £319,000-per-week contract to join them from Bilbao. Football 365 quote an unnamed Spanish media outlet, who state that Maresca is “obsessed” with the idea of signing the Spanish international.
Yeah, I very much doubt all that!
