Report: Liverpool to battle Chelsea & Tottenham for 26-year-old South American | OneFootball

Liverpool are interested in signing the Colombian defender Jhon Lucumi from Bologna, and they will face competition from Chelsea and Tottenham.

The 26-year-old has been outstanding for the Italian club this season, and he has just over 12 months left on his contract. He could be available for a reasonable amount of money in the summer, and a report from TBR Football claims that Liverpool will face competition from Inter Milan and Juventus as well.

The 26-year-old Colombian could prove to be a very useful acquisition for Liverpool if they can get the deal done. Joe Gomez is quite injury-prone, and Jarell Quansah has been underwhelming. Liverpool need another central defender.

The report claims that Liverpool have scouted the player in action earlier this season, and they are looking to add more depth to the effective unit.

Lucumi is capable of operating as a left-sided central defender, and he could be a very useful acquisition for Liverpool. Given his current contract situation, he could be available on a bargain as well. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can get the deal done.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping tabs on the player as well. Chelsea have looked defensively vulnerable this season, and they need more quality at the back. Lucumi could prove to be a solid acquisition for them for a reasonable amount of money.

The opportunity to join clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea will be quite attractive for the player. The Blues are currently pushing for Champions League qualification, and finishing in the top four will certainly help attract quality players.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, Cristian Romero is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, and they will need to replace him. The Colombian could prove to be the ideal alternative to the Argentine international.
