Report reveals the extent of Hansi Flick’s anger at a Barcelona star’s late arrival for a team talk | OneFootball

Ever since his arrival at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick has brought out an air of mystique and aura and even several months after his appointment, the methods of the German coach are raising a lot of interest in the media and the fans.

In public, the Blaugrana coach never loses his cool and always puts on a leisurely and elegant outlook. This is always mostly true on the sidelines, as Flick almost always hugs his players when they are subbed out.

However, a report by Mundo Deportivo has highlighted the other side of Flick’s personality, in which he is not shy to take on a tough guy persona and takes out the whip to keep his players in line.

The report has mentioned several instances of this behaviour, but the one player who has experienced this other side of the Barcelona coach the most is the French defender Jules Kounde.

There have been frequent news of the Frenchman arriving late for team talks or training this season, and in total, he has been late for a training session once and for team talks thrice.

He faced a particularly fiery Hansi Flick when he was late for a team talk on the third occasion, on the day of the match between the Catalan side and Rayo Vallecano.

On that day, Kounde arrived late for a team talk in the room of the Torre Melina Gran Meliá hotel. The German coach kept waiting for him at the door while the rest of the team was already inside the room.

Flick made his anger known to the Frenchman by slamming the door of the room so hard that it came close to breaking after the defender had entered the room. The coach also shouted at Kounde to reprimand him for his repeated offences.

His punishment did not end there. The French international was also kept out of the Barcelona starting lineup for that game and must have also been fined, as is the rule of the team for arriving late for team talks or training sessions.
