Roma have added a new name to their shortlist of candidates who could replace Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.

Following Ranieri’s announcement that Gasperini will not be, after all, his successor, today’s media reports in Italy suggest that a new name from La Liga could be the one to take over the team ahead of next season.

Today’s edition of Il Tempo writes that Roma are thinking of Ernesto Valverde whom they just faced in the Europa League Round of 16 against Athletic Bilbao.

The ex-Barcelona manager is on very good terms with Ranieri and is now being considered as an option to lead the team in 2025/26.
