Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has on Sunday evening secured for himself another piece of impressive goalscoring history.

This comes owing to the Pole’s exploits in Barcelona’s final outing of the campaign.

Hansi Flick’s troops are currently locked in action in the Basque Country, in a La Liga meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club.

The Blaugrana headed into the matchup with little to play for, having long sewn up the Spanish top-flight title, to make it a domestic treble for the season.

This didn’t stop Flick’s men from emerging out of the blocks in explosive fashion, though.

Inside the opening 20 minutes at San Mamés, Barca had raced out into a two-goal advantage. And it was the aforementioned Lewandowski who was responsible for both strikes.

In the process, the veteran striker took his tally for the campaign to a hugely impressive 42 goals.

Not only that, but Lewandowski has now broken the 100-goal mark in the colours of Barcelona, in just his third season in Catalunya’s capital.
