Roma have reportedly prioritized Gian Piero Gasperini as their next manager.
With Claudio Ranieri set to step down from his role as head coach of the club, Roma have launched talks with Gasperini as Ranieri’s successor.
According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, contacts between Gasperini’s representatives and Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi continue, so much so that there has already been talk of the transfer market for this coming summer.
Among the players being monitored is Abu Francis, a 2001 midfielder from Cercle Bruges, a profile that could be included in the future strategies of the Roman club.
The newspaper adds that Gasperini is more and more convinced of Roma’s project.
The Italian technician will leave Atalanta after 9 years and he currently appears to be the favorite to take over the Giallorossi in their long-term plans.
