Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is reportedly on the radar of two Bundesliga clubs and the Saudi Pro League, amidst uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford.
United are hinging their entire season on next week’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur after a wretched Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League, having suffered 18 defeats, the latest one of which saw Chelsea beat them 1-0 on Friday night at Stamford Bridge.
Amorim has just won six of the 26 games he has taken charge of since replacing Erik ten Hag in the United hot seat. When Amorim arrived, United were just six points off the top four. They are currently 27 points adrift of the Champions League places.
This has led to speculation that the Portuguese coach is in danger of being sacked at the end of the season.
There have been murmurs that his position will be reviewed this summer but it was subsequently relayed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are more concerned with strengthening the team and ensuring Amorim has the tools necessary to make United a competitive outfit once again.
However, as the club’s losing streak continues, the criticism is unlikely to fade, and failure to win the Europa League could make matters even worse.
According to Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, Amorim still retains admirers despite his struggles at United.
RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and the Saudi Pro League are all understood to be eyeing the 40-year-old coach.
“TBR Football can reveal that German sides Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are among those who are actively watching the United situation. Both Bundesliga clubs are in the market for new head coaches this summer and [Amorim] is very much on their radar.”
“Sources have also told TBR Football that the Saudi Pro League would ‘love’ to lure Amorim to the Middle East.”
TBR Football further state that INEOS are still planning with Amorim in mind and they are prepared to back him heavily, with up to five signings on the agenda.
