Ruben Amorim has provided hope to Manchester United fans that Leny Yoro could be fit for the Europa League final.

United supporters were already experiencing the familiar sinking feeling when they found their team 0-1 down to West Ham United at home in the Premier League.

Things went from bad to worse after just 52 minutes when the television cameras panned to Yoro on the ground in discomfort.

The Frenchman left the pitch soon after and headed straight down the tunnel which automatically sparked concern amongst fans with the final of the Europa League just nine days away.

After the match, Yoro was caught on video limping as he left the ground but he was not seen to be wearing a protective boot.

During his post-match press conference, United boss Ruben Amorim claimed “we have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow. He felt something but I think it could be a small thing.”

The head coach went into further detail in his post-match interview with Sky Sports (via 90 Min).

When asked to comment on the teenager’s fitness status he stated, “we hope it’s not too serious. I don’t want to say too much but maybe it’s not a big deal.”

Therefore, United fans will be praying that their young star can make a speedy recovery to be an option ahead of the final.

Yoro has been in outstanding form despite the incredibly challenging circumstances of his first season in Manchester.

He was impeccable during United’s semi-final victory over Athletic Club and grabbed a vital equaliser for the Red Devils in France versus Olympique Lyonnais during the quarter final first leg.

United fans are also sweating on the fitness of fellow centre back, Matthijs de Ligt. Fortunately, Amorim has hinted that the defender could be in line to make a return against Chelsea on Friday night ahead of the final.
