The coming weekend is massive from the point of view of the La Liga standings, especially with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid locking horns in a big derby.
With at least one of the two teams ahead of them on the standings set to lose points, Barcelona can stand to gain massively from the upcoming matchday and work their way back into title contention.
For that, however, they must first get the better of Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pijzuan and ensure they have all three points so as to capitalize on the result of the derby.
Speaking to the media ahead of his team’s clash against Barcelona, Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta showered praise on the young Catalan star Lamine Yamal and how he was a decisive player for the team.
“Lamine is a great player and very young. We must pay close attention to him and the rest of the Barcelona players,” said Pimienta.
Elaborating on the challenge his men faced at the weekend and how it would be difficult to stop Barcelona, he said,
“We know the team we have in front of us. Yesterday in the cup they finished after 20 minutes,” referring to Barcelona’s win over Valencia.

Pimienta also acknowledged that it would be difficult to control the game against Barcelona and how it would be critical to take the few chances that come their way.
“We have to know how to suffer and how to enjoy the moments when we don’t have the ball,” he remarked.
“We have to know that if we win the ball at the right moment there will be spaces that we can exploit,” the Sevilla boss added.
Finally, Pimienta was asked if Barcelona’s current team could go on to be a new golden generation, to which he said,
“They have a lot of quality, but they also have a competitive hunger to get things. And that youth, along with the way of playing that Flick has instilled, I think it fits like a ring on their finger.”
“In La Liga, there are other high-level teams, also in Europe, and they will have to prove it between now and the end of the season. But I have no doubt that it’s a great generation,” he added.
