Sheffield United Women sign Esther Morgan on loan from Hearts | OneFootball

Sheffield United Women have signed Welsh international defender Esther Morgan on loan from Hearts for the remainder of the season.

She joined ScottishPower Women’s Premier League side Hearts after coming through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, from where she went on loan to Leicester City, Coventry United and Sunderland.

The versatile defender, who can play as a centre-back or as a full-back, has been capped several times for Wales, making her debut as an 18-year-old back in 2021 in a friendly against Canada.

Morgan said: “I’m delighted. It’s a really exciting opportunity for myself and I just can’t wait to get playing and get out with the girls now.

“It’s been really great to speak to Ash [Thompson] about where we want to go as a group, speaking to him, I was excited, they were excited to have me and it’s just a great opportunity.”

Head coach Ash Thompson added: “We’re really pleased to bring Esther in, again in a position we were keen to add both quality and versatility during the January window.

“Esther knows this league well, brings international experience and it’s another signing we’re really pleased to get over the line.”
