Sheffield Wednesday: Danny Rohl exit update emerges amid Will Still, Southampton news

There is heavy speculation that the 36-year-old will not take charge of another Wednesday game.
Danny Rohl is reportedly "considering multiple options" as speculation around his Sheffield Wednesday future continues to grow.
The slippery slope of the German's tenure at Hillsborough began after his players weren't paid their March wages on time, which almost led to the club receiving a three-window transfer ban - they paid them one day before the deadline.
Between then and the season's end, his answers to questions about his future were always open-ended, never leaning one way or the other and fuelling more uncertainty about how long he will stick around for.
Rohl, who signed a contract extension last summer which scheduled him to stick around with the Owls until after the end of the 2026/27 season, then preceded, after the 46th game of the Championship campaign, to drop some major hints which suggested that he was likely to move on from the club who he miraculously saved from relegation two seasons ago.
He stated that he and the club's owner Dejphon Chansiri had an agreement over his future - a claim that the Owls denied - and said things like "I had a fantastic time at Sheffield Wednesday," to German outlet Kicker.
It has now been reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic that Rohl is "considering multiple options." He added that there is an increased expectation that the German, who talkSPORT previously reported had decided to leave the Owls this summer, will exit Hillsborough before the next term commences.
Leicester City, RB Leipzig and Southampton have been linked with the 36-year-old, although his chances of returning to St Mary's, where he previously worked as an assistant to Ralph Hassenhuttl, are looking slimmer as they have reportedly made an approach to Will Still.
There is, however, no certainty that the Saints would be the Wednesday boss' first-choice move this summer, as per The Athletic, because of interest that he's received from a couple of Europe's top leagues: the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
In the interviews he has done since the conclusion of the regular season, Rohl has spoken of his desire to one day manage in either of the two powerhouse divisions.
The likelihood appears to be that the 36-year-old will depart the club this summer, if they were to press him into making a decision soon. The timing of any exit isn't necessarily up to them, unless they want to sack him. That would be an ill-advised moved as they are set to profit from Rohl leaving due to the compensation clauses in his contract.
So it's not completely up to Wednesday what or when this may happen. What they can control, to some extent, is what happens this summer. AKA, what does an Owls future without Rohl look like?
They must have a vision of what that will be in place if he decides that he wants to see if the grass is greener elsewhere. For them to be able to put those plans into action, they need to know for certain what their manager's plans are.
