Mathys Tel still remains undecided whether to leave Bayern Munich this winter in order to seek more playing time, as reported by Florian Plettenberg.

Should Mathys Tel Leave Bayern?

The player himself currently has no intention of leaving this January, but after three games and zero playing time, Tel’s thinking might just be beginning to shift.

The forward isn’t short of options should be decide to leave on loan. As previously reported by GGFN, Chelsea and several other Bundesliga clubs remain interested.

What’s more, a move with Chelsea could see Bayern bring in Christopher Nkunku from the London club. A deal that can only happen if Tel moves to the blues.

As of right now, Bayern are not putting any pressure on the 19-year-old. However, the fact he has now been an unused sub for three games in a row could be a subtle indication that the club thinks it would be best for him to leave on loan.

It’s no secret that Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany wants to bring in Nkunku during this transfer window, but the only way this is possible is if Tel goes in the opposite direction.

Bayern may not be telling the youngster to leave, but they’re conveniently showing him where the exit door is.

Tel will undergo further talks to Bayern this week with the transfer window coming to a close. Perhaps Bayern will be more direct this week? Only time will tell.

For the player, it comes down to two things: Do they club want me? Will I get game time this season?

Both of the answers right now appear to be no. With Chelsea waiting in the wings, surely it’s the most sensible option?
