Sunderland fans have been reacting to their latest home derby defeat to Newcastle United.

Nine months ago it was Eddie Howe’s team who strolled to a ridiculously easy 3-0 away victory.

This time the Mackem lasses put up more of a fight but the result was the same.

Another NUFC away derby victory, a final score of Sunderland 1 Newcastle United 2.

Howay the lasses!

A sold out away section saw over 2,500 backing the lasses on Sunday afternoon, where Beth Lumsden the star of the show.

The NUFC winger scoring both goals, including the winning strike direct from a corner! Emily Scarr scored for the home side with 12 minutes remaining to make it ‘interesting’… with then seven minutes of added time not helping the nerves.

However, fully deserved for the Newcastle United women’s team.

Interesting to see how Sunderland fans have reacted to this latest home defeat…

I know it is a minority and that all clubs have them, including Newcastle United, however, just how embarrassing (and hilarious) it is, the way some of the Sunderland fans go on.

The fact the NUFC lasses posed for the winning photo on the pitch after the victory, just like Eddie Howe’s side did in January, winding them up beautifully!

Sunderland fans reacting after this latest home derby defeat to Newcastle United via their RTG message board:

‘I was outside having a cigarette after the game waiting for my lass and the kids who were autograph hunting.

As there fans were walking past I was thinking .

If you were strutting around like this in the main derby you’d be flattened.’

‘Tell all the Mags you know, you will never win 6 in a row.’

‘What I seen of the game neither of them would last in the WPL they were so slow compared to those who have been playing today.’

‘Difference is the Saudis will just spend spend spend in the WSL.’

‘We rolled the red carpet out for them all day long and they took the p… out of us. Not sure why so many of ours fans are terrified of upsetting them.’

‘Should have been murderer chants but was just all families etc.’

‘None of that Newcastle team will ever play in the WSL (well, perhaps as subs). The Saudis will buy an entire new team. Half of them will be crawling back here with their tails between their legs. Hope we tell them to f… off.’

‘9 decades since their scum club won a trophy beat that stat.’

‘1st time I’ve ever been to a women’s game, and other than seeing scores on twitter 1st time I’ve ever really took notice of our side.

Their lot looked fitter and stronger, their 26 was very good, and their striker held it up well in the 1st half. Sunderland had no midfield at all. The tall lass at centre back was canny, and the number 7 seemed decent enough on the ball, but overall it wasn’t very good.

Their fans are special mind, and not in a good way. Grown blokes in full black and white suits with air horns, singing about burger buns, and a special shout out to the bloke in his stone island coat and free Sela scarf and I’m presuming his son who spent the 1st 10 minutes threatening to come and knock bairns out….with no segregation or steward in sight to stop him.’

‘Considering the number of years our women have been going for you’d have thought we’d be a level above the mags, pretty damning that they’re in the same league now and beating us.

We were so close to going up last season, feel as though missing out on promotion has knocked us way backwards after losing several players.’

‘Should be moved back to Eppleton. It ls actually a disadvantage playing at the stadium of light.’

‘I’ve said from day one this game should have been at Eppleton.’

‘Something could be done, mags seem to be organised in terms of their players and staff taking a team photo twice now

We should have be organised and have something in place to stop it but whatever we’d rather sell off our home end for a few grand.’

‘There is 0% chance that if we get Newcastle away in the cup that we’ll a) get 6000 tickets b) have the away end behind the goal and c) be allowed if we win to take photos and take the p… on the pitch at st.james.

NUFC simply wouldn’t allow any of those three things to happen in thier ground. We allowed it.’

‘No. Not like they let our whole team run the length of the St James Park pitch and dive in front of the away fans. No that never happened.

In answer to the 6,000 point. Yes they would. It’s in the Cup rules, there was an arrangement for 6,000 for the replay and Northumbria Police have shown there’s 0 safety concerns.’

‘One day we’ll beat the skunks at the landfill again, and I want us to wheel out a massive Victorian era camera with the massive flash and smoke coming out the top and all that.’

‘2014 end of the game about 10 mins after FT all the players ran the length of the pitch and belly dived in front of the away end.’

‘It was an impulsive thing from the actual players, who were underdogs in the game.

Sunday it was a contrived, pre-organised excersice planned by the club management clearly intended to try and take the p…and rub it in. Pre planned. By a team who have individual players worth more than our entire squad.’

‘An orchestrated photo in front of our home stand we’d sold off to the mags to then be repeated by their lasses is different.’

‘Basically it’s okay when we do it?’

‘So are you upset about the photo? The allocation? Or both? The photo is a weird thing to get upset about. They’re allowed to enjoy their win. I hated every minute of losing but in football you have to have the class to accept they deserved it and are entitled to enjoy it. Thought it was funny tbh, a supposed “irrelevance” being worthy of a photo.’

‘We rolled the red carpet out for them all day long and they took the p… out of us. Not sure why so many of ours fans are terrified of upsetting them.

‘Was a bit like a cup match atmosphere really.

Great to see so many kids there though, both Red and white, and black and white. What it’s all about really.’

‘3 years ago they didn’t give the first sh… about their women’s side either. Now, they’re bringing a couple of thousand to an away game

‘‘Look Newcastle ‘ have managed to shoehorn the game on the local news couldn’t wait until tomorrow’s programme, bet if the result was reversed it wouldn’t be mentioned.’

‘Its just classic bandwagon jumping. They’ll have legacy fans in mind but the thousands they get at home games just there as they know they are likely to win plenty.. oh and the free tickets they dish out in schools etc.’

‘Honestly mate I hold my hands up and admit we got beat by the better team. End of. But there’s just something pathetic about the way they go on. It’s a regional sport to them to obsess over beating us and slagging us off.’

‘Aye I thought the experience was a bit disappointing all round. “Fanzone” was just kicking a football, sound system awful, display was a mess.

Once again let the Saudis take over the SoL (wouldnt be surprised if an agreement was put in place in January to allow the womens fans have a party this season).’

‘My lad as just got back with the kids and said it was defo a foul on our keeper for their second goal they were sitting right behind the goal… The standard of refereeing was shocking like.. plus he also said if the sunlund manager had told them to step up 20yards they might have had a chance..He said it was 90mins of torture but the bairn enjoyed it.’

‘Money before morales, the Saudis are taking over everything.’

‘They’ve won a game a minority of the fan base cared about. Its hardly global domination.’

‘Were we disrespectful at Wembley to Wycombe taking millions of pictures and staying on the pitch 3/4 of an hour after the end?’

‘Its not disrespectful, its just a bit weird and sad, but thats not why they are doing it, its to deflect from hideous atrocities.’

‘As a club it was abysmal. No segregation (irrespective of whether or not it was needed) and just the little things too. The display was terrible, the announcer sounded asleep, the build up music was faulty, they had a light show in broad daylight, the only place to get a programme at first was in the Newcastle end, the stewards are to a man absolutely useless.’

‘The club is infested with Mag sympathisers at corporate level.’
