There will be decisions to make over the futures of some Baggies players at the turn of the year

There were some high-profile departures from West Brom over the course of the summer transfer window.

The likes of Cedric Kipre, Conor Townsend, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Okay Yokuslu were among those to complete permanent moves away from the club in that period.

Despite that, it has been a reasonably strong start to the season for Carlos Corberan's side, who look as though they will once again be pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season.

With that in mind, they will have to get things right with their business when the market opens again in January.

As part of that, there may potentially be more departures they will have to deal with once we get to the turn of the year.

So, with that in mind, we've taken a look at three West Brom players who may leave the club in the January transfer window, right here.

Tom Fellows

The 2023/24 campaign was something of a breakthrough one for Tom Fellows, as he became a regular and important part of the Baggies' senior side for the first time.

He made some vital contributions in terms of both goals and assists, which saw the winger handed a first international call-up by England at youth level.

It also led to him emerging as the subject of some significant transfer interest in the summer, with Premier League sides such as Everton, Leicester City and Southampton linked with a move.

In the end, though, West Brom were able to stand their ground and keep the 21-year-old at The Hawthorns beyond the transfer deadline.

But with Fellows continuing to impress so far this season, it would be no surprise to see that interest emerge again come January.

At that point, clubs in the top-flight may be getting desperate if they are performing below par, and could therefore make some big bids in an attempt to ease the pressure on them.

That, in turn, could then force West Brom to make a big decision on the future of Fellows, especially since the winger could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Jed Wallace

One senior member of the Baggies squad who has had a rather quiet start to this season is Jed Wallace.

The attacker has started just once in the Championship since the campaign began, coming off the bench six more times in the league.

Indeed, he is still yet to complete a full 90 minutes for Corberan's side during the current season, which is unusual for Wallace, who has more often been a consistent feature for all of his teams.

Now at 30-years-old, though, he will surely want to be playing as much as possible, while he is still in the peak years of his career.

If there is no sign of things changing for him to do that at West Brom between now and the turn of the year, it could be argued that he may be tempted to look into a move elsewhere in January.

Ted Cann

Having come through the youth ranks with the Baggies, Ted Cann is still yet to make his senior debut for the club.

Indeed, his first-team experience has so far been limited to loan spells in non-league football with the likes of Yeovil Town, Telford United and Leamington.

But at 23-years-old, the goalkeeper is surely at a stage of his career where he needs to aim to play more regularly in order to progress his career.

His contract with West Brom is due to expire at the end of this season, but the club do have the option of extending the deal by a further 12 months.

As a result, a loan move for Cann in January could make sense, giving him the opportunity to get some much-needed experience of regular senior football under his belt.

It could also help West Brom to get a better idea of his potential for the future, and therefore decide whether or not they should extend his contract beyond the end of this campaign.
