Queens Park Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes is currently overseeing his first full season in charge of the west London outfit, after steering his side clear of relegation last campaign after being appointed last October, when the club were sitting in the relegation zone.

The Spaniard recently signed a new long-term contract with the R's, and as his tenure progresses he will be looking to build his own squad at Loftus Road.

With this in mind, Football League World takes a look at four players who could be set to leave QPR in January:

Rayan Kolli

Rayan Kolli is an R's academy graduate who made 10 Championship appearances last season, which was his first campaign as a senior player.

However, the wideman's last appearance of 2023/24 came on New Year's Day, and he would not appear for the first team again until pre-season.

The 19-year-old provided an assist for Lucas Andersen during a 3-1 defeat to West Brom in August, but did not feature for Cifuentes' side during September.

Kolli's contract with the R's keeps him with the club until 2025, while his lack of gametime suggests Cifuentes could be looking to part company with the teenager, who could be sent out on a short-term loan deal or sold.

Lorent Talla

Kosovo international Lorent Talla made a ten-minute cameo in the FA Cup for the R's last season as the west London outfit fell to a dramatic 3-2 defeat at the hands of Premier League Bournemouth.

Since then, the 19-year-old, who signed his first pro-deal during the summer, has not made a senior appearance in a competitive game for the R's, but was an unused substitute during a Championship encounter with Millwall last January, as well as during a league meeting with Plymouth back in August.

While Talla has been in and around Cifuentes' squad on a few occasions, he has not enjoyed much playing time, which suggests he may be leaving the club on loan in January in order to gain more experience.

Alex Aoraha

Iraq international Alex Aoraha rose through the ranks at the R's academy before making a senior appearance in the EFL Cup against Norwich City last term, but did not feature during the first two months of the current campaign.

The 21-year-old midfielder's progress last season was hindered by an injury set-back, while he is targeting more first team minutes this campaign, as per the QPR club website.

However, due to the fact that he has endured a lack of first-team opportunities during the early exchanges of 2024/25, the starlet could push for a loan exit come the turn of the year.

Matteo Salamon

Matteo Salamon is the R's third choice goalkeeper behind number one choice Paul Nardi, and fellow back-up option Joe Walsh, who made three EFL Cup appearances earlier in the campaign.

Due to his status in the pecking order at Loftus Road, Salamon is unlikely to be happy with his playing time after signing a contract extension in June.

The 20-year-old went out on loan to National League South outfit Hampton & Richmond during the 2022/23 season, and a similar move this term could be ideal for the out of favour shot-stopper.
