Things are smooth enough at FC Barcelona, but the club is always open to new means of income. However, the Catalan giants have always been as cautious as possible to ensure their own security and future. At the moment, there is no urgent need for Barcelona to make any risky calls.

However, there are times when opportunities present themselves and it depends on who ends up taking advantage of them the best. For Barcelona, such an opportunity could be the reported interest of a certain Brazilian team that wants to permanently sign a South American forward who is currently contracted to Barça.

Palmeiras, one of the top sides in Brazil, wants to sign 19-year-old Brazilian forward Vitor Roque before the Brazilian transfer window deadline ends later in February. Currently on loan at La Liga club Real Betis, his future when it comes to Barcelona is as uncertain as ever. Even in terms of loanees, it seems very unlikely that he will be representing Barcelona again.

However, even a move back to Brazil now looks complicated. According to Mundo Deportivo, while Barcelona is on board with the idea of selling 80% of the rights of the player to the Brazilian side for €25 million, other parties still need to give their approval.

One such party is obviously Real Betis itself, and the approval from the Andalusian side is still not there. However, there could be the possibility of Betis themselves loaning the player to Palmeiras and an obligation to buy can be agreed upon that would benefit both Betis and Barcelona at the end of the season.

The other party whose approval is still missing is La Liga itself. As per MD, Barça cannot transfer a player with the transfer market now closed for the Catalan side, and to do it they must first re-register the Brazilian forward, even if it is just temporarily. However, Barcelona are not too fond of the idea of having to pay themselves in order to relieve the player and transfer him.

Instead, the loan option directly from Real Betis is one that would satisfy the needs of both the Andalusian side and Barcelona themselves. However, there are still no guarantees when it comes to this operation, but Barça seem to have other priorities to focus on in the meantime as well.
