After months of wondering about the status of Midge Purce, NJ/NY Gotham FC fans can finally celebrate. The winger is back for 2025! She returns to the club after an offseason that saw numerous departures and signings.

Gotham FC signed Purce to a new one-year contract that will keep her with the Bats for the 2025 season. While Purce was expected to sign a large multi-year contract, it is possible her ACL injury from the beginning of the previous season hindered those plans. Therefore, Purce can use this season to remind everyone of her talent.

Beloved by supporters, Purce has been with the Bats since 2020. She was there for the bad when Gotham finished in last place in 2022. Then, she was there for the 2023 championship run despite missing some time due to injury. She assisted on the two goals in the NWSL Championship, helping lead the Bats to their first NWSL trophy.
